#WHYIWRITE with Jonathan Cohen

In celebration of April being National Letter Writing Month, we looked to our friends and collaborators to share why they write. We hope it inspires you to pick up a pen and send more mail!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Launched at a time when we were all at home searching for positivity and joy, Jonathan Cohen’s Flower Shop wanted to find a way to show compassion and love to the community, as well as find an opportunity to send something special while eliminating in person deliveries.  The result – his digital floral designs.  Each arrangement is hand drawn by Jonathan.

This concept, and Jonathan’s artwork, inspired our latest collaboration, which will brighten up everyone’s mailbox with floral-meets-fashion stationery. Shop the collection here.

Jonathan Cohen is a product of the cultural heritage he was exposed to growing up. In High School, he would see the surfers changing out of their wet suits into their school outfits with only the ease and laid-back nature that one from a beach town could. With parents originating from Mexico, he was surrounded by strong-willed individuals who loved to immerse themselves in the colors and textiles reminiscent of their childhood. Eventually, when Cohen moved to New York City, the modernity of Manhattan and the on-the-go fluidity of the city shaped his design direction and inspiration – which eventually shaped the Jonathan Cohen woman.
